Apple Picking

Picking apples at the Apple Orchard. There is also a corn maze, pumpkins, animals and grapes. Talya just loves my friend Katie. Most days she'd rather go to her than me!

While you are picking apples, you also can eat whatever you'd like. So we each ate an apple and then picked a few to take home. We also packed a lunch and ate it in the shade.

Jessica's Wedding

Talya and I headed back to Utah for my younger sister's wedding. Our flight out was supposed to be perfect. We left Minneapolis at 9:30pm, an 1 1/2 past Talya's bedtime thinking that she would just crash and fall asleep. Boy was I wrong! Thank you to the nice man sitting next to us that didn't mind Natalya putting her feet on him or constantly giving him her blanket, binkie or Cubby bear. He was much too kind to play with her and made our trip much more tolerable. She lasted until about midnight until she turned into a little monster. Thankfully we only had about 20 minutes left of the flight. We stayed at my friends house that night in Vegas and then Colten's mom picked us up early the next morning.

We enjoyed our quick little trip home and besides the root canal I had to get, it was lots of fun. I guess I was too busy on the actual wedding day because I didn't take a single picture. I'll get some later to put on here. (UPDATED)

Here is an engagement picture of the happy couple!

The next day, we headed up to the mountain for an overnight camp-out. Talya and cousin, Hadlee just had so much fun playing together.

And Talya's favorite part of staying at Grandma's house is knowing that I'll give in every night and let Grandma "rock-a-bye" before bedtime.

Our flight home was much better, we got a whole row to ourselves. Thank you Sun Country Airlines. You seem to always do that for us!

Honkers Baseball

We got some free tickets to the Honkers Baseball game again this year. We were watching my friends two boys this weekend and decided to go to the baseball game. Lots of fun. Wished we could have lasted more than 2 innings. Oh well....

There was LOTS of music during innings and dead balls etc.. Talya had so much fun busting out all of her dancing moves. For example...

MN, you didn't disappoint us after all!

Our first camping adventure in Minnesota was one that I thought would be our last. It was a bad experience, to say the least. But as Colten and I both love to camp, we decided we needed to give it another go. So we loaded up our gear and headed South to Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. We were quite impressed that the campgrounds actually had dirt instead of the standard grass that most MN campgrounds we have seen have. It reminded us of being in our Utah mountains that we miss so much. We will definitely be going camping again at Forestville!

Once we got everything set up, we realized that our air mattress pump had dead batteries and our adapter we'd just bought was the wrong one for the car. We decided to load up the air mattress in the car and drive over to the camp sites that had electricity. We found an empty site and pumped our air mattress up. Smart, right? Wrong...

... It got full alright, but then it was stuck in the SUV and we had to let a bunch of air out to get the whole thing out. Dumb... we know... but now we know what to do the next time this happens to us.

Talya just loved camping and being outside in the dirt. She loved her new little camp chair as well.

She was just full of smiles, until the next day when we went for a hike and she had to sit in the backpack.

After our hike, we were hot and tired so we headed over to the Mystery Cave to cool off. It is 48 degrees year round down in the cave. Pretty cool!

On our way home, we stopped at this cute A&W for dinner.

This sweet little thing was indeed in need of a bath!
