Our first camping adventure in Minnesota was one that I thought would be our last. It was a bad experience, to say the least. But as Colten and I both love to camp, we decided we needed to give it another go. So we loaded up our gear and headed South to Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. We were quite impressed that the campgrounds actually had dirt instead of the standard grass that most MN campgrounds we have seen have. It reminded us of being in our Utah mountains that we miss so much. We will definitely be going camping again at Forestville!
Once we got everything set up, we realized that our air mattress pump had dead batteries and our adapter we'd just bought was the wrong one for the car. We decided to load up the air mattress in the car and drive over to the camp sites that had electricity. We found an empty site and pumped our air mattress up. Smart, right? Wrong...
... It got full alright, but then it was stuck in the SUV and we had to let a bunch of air out to get the whole thing out. Dumb... we know... but now we know what to do the next time this happens to us.
Talya just loved camping and being outside in the dirt. She loved her new little camp chair as well.
She was just full of smiles, until the next day when we went for a hike and she had to sit in the backpack.
After our hike, we were hot and tired so we headed over to the Mystery Cave to cool off. It is 48 degrees year round down in the cave. Pretty cool!
On our way home, we stopped at this cute A&W for dinner.
This sweet little thing was indeed in need of a bath!
